My name is Ron Perusi. I first became interested in carving as a boy scout in Connecticut.
My love of carving only grew from there. I was always working with wood in one form or another, from building furniture to building cabinets, but my first love was carving.
I moved to Florida in the 70s. That’s where I met my wife Lorry. The two of us worked together on all our projects. I did the carving and Lorry did the painting. We have 2 daughters and a son. While my son was in the YMCA Indian Guides I taught carving to the kids.
We now live in the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Waynesville, NC and I am a scoutmaster in the boy scouts, where I teach wood carving to scouts.
My carving interests range from decoys and caricatures to furniture and relief carvings. I enjoy carving mantels because you can be very creative with your ideas. |
